You know that rare and special moment of joy you feel when you find a sand dollar on the beach? Imagine finding this fuzzy Sand Dollar up for adoption at Muttville! Scruffy, friendly, and good with other doggos, San Dollar is a true treasure. And this rare find can’t wait to be taken home with you. Here’s some notes from her foster:Sand Dollar has been a wonderful house guest. She has a very calm, easy-going demeanor! As she comes out of her shell more and more, we have been seeing that she has a playful side as well. She is quite spry for a 13 year old – she can even jump up on the couch to sit next you.She really enjoys her morning and evening walks. The first few walks were quite slow because she had to sniff everything and take it all in. Now she’s even leading the pace! She also takes no medications – woo hoo! She appears to be house-trained, going outside to do her business or using pee pads in the house, (although she might need a little remedial work in that area when she gets to her new home). And while she has no problem with a few stairs, she has not yet had the confidence to venture up to our second floor by herself – so we just carry her upstairs. But she is agile enough that I expect her to be able to learn to use the stairs easily one day (if need be).We have learned that she prefers to eat from a plate, and prefers brunch – or even lunch – to breakfast. She is also a very good sleeper, sleeping through the night on our bed! In fact, I think she would sleep in quite late every morning if our resident dogs didn’t wake her up at 6 am. She coexists nicely with them so she should do well with doggy siblings. She is just a really lovely little girl, and we are enjoying getting to know her.
