Tenderhearted Toby is so sweet. Toby needs a trustworthy person who is going to take their time building their relationship. A recent return to our shelter, Toby has been more of the wallflower type of guy who appreciates your taking it slow and easy with him. After a few minutes of soft talk, yummy incentives (quickest way to the heart is through the tummy!) and gentle movements, Toby will lean into your for pets, race around our dog park, and even play fetch! In his last home, the adopters reported that Toby indeed loved meeting people and dogs of all shapes and sizes, and said he was just a wonderful dog. The shelter environment just needs some getting used to, but hopefully he won’t live here long. Do you want a lifelong companion, and a true best friend? Toby would be a terrific choice.
