Meet Mariposa, the Sweetest Little Love Bug! At 4 months old, Mariposa is a sweet, affectionate puppy — the ultimate cuddle bug who loves to be close to her humans and will often follow them around the house. She is alert, and intelligent which makes her highly trainable. This adorable mixed breed puppy resembles a mini New Zealand Huntaway (a combo of Lab, Border Collie and Rottweiler) but, of course, it’s just a guess! We estimate her adult weight to be about 70 pounds, with no guarantees. Mariposa is energetic and playful but also enjoys quiet moments with lots of snuggles.  She can be a little shy around new people but quickly warms up, showing her loving nature.  Mariposa is making great progress with potty training as long as her routine is followed. She’s also working on her crate training and has been successfully sleeping through the night. Mariposa is still learning leash manners, is making good progress and is responsive to gentle correction.  She is working on and improving some separation anxiety, typical of a puppy, and prefers not to be left alone for long periods! With continued patience, routine, and support, she will become more and more comfortable over time. While Mariposa is a playful pup who enjoys her toys and occasional bursts of energy (also known as the puppy zoomies), she’s also perfectly happy snuggling up for some quality quiet time. Mariposa has not had much opportunity to meet children and other dogs yet but, given her gentle and affectionate nature, we anticipate she would do well with proper introductions and dog-savvy children.
