Hi there! My name is Goku and I'm a 1-year-old, neutered American Bulldog, Pitbull mix that currently weighs about 67lbs. Yes, I'm named after an anime character and if you've seen the show, our personalities are similar. My friends here at PHS say I'm a lovable goofball! I'm a big boy that is still working on my manners so I'd prefer a new family that is prepared to help me with my social skills and learning to share. I can be a little boisterous but it's all coming from a place of love. I just get so excited to see my favorite people! Because of this, I prefer to play with older children. Once I've had a chance to get my wiggles out, I'm an affectionate gentleman that enjoys brushing. I don't have long locks but it still feels lovely! If I sound like the perfect companion and you're looking to add a little Saiyan into your life, just ask Customer Service about Goku ID# A955323
I recently spent time with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did:
I took Goku on a 3-hour offsite adventure! He greeted me with lots of excitement and wiggly energy, and in his enthusiasm. We started with a short walk along Rollins before heading to my car. Goku explored but hesitated to get into the back seat until I tossed a treat inside—he jumped right in after it. He rode calmly in the car, clearly enjoying all the smells along the way. During our walk, Goku encountered several loud and potentially startling situations: a concrete mixer truck making a delivery, a recycling truck lifting and setting down a bin, and a residential remodel with power tools and hammers banging away. He walked past all these loud noises in a calm and composed manner. Goku was wonderful with all the people we passed but remained consistently excitable around other dogs. Once we arrived at my house, I let him off leash and he immediately found a ball, starting a game of fetch. He soon discovered the backyard and got the zoomies, running back and forth the side of the house. I redirected him to the water bowl, then asked him for a “sit,” followed by “airplane” and a brief “stay.” This helped him settle, and we went inside to relax on the couch. Goku sprawled out, showed me his belly, and later we moved to the bed, where he continued to relax. After a while, we went for another walk, passing a tennis summer camp. Goku did great, ignoring the tennis balls scattered around. When it was time to head back, Goku jumped into the car without hesitation. I returned him to his dorm room, where he transformed into a giant lap dog. Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
