Roxanne is a stunning, wrinkle-faced Shar Pei with jet-black fur and an old-soul gaze.A breed rooted in ancient Chinese history, Shar Peis are known for their loyalty, stoic charm, and deep sense of connectionand Roxanne carries all of that in spades.Shes a curious girl who loves a good sniffari, a long-lasting chew, and a cozy spot where she can watch the world go by.
Roxanne has had some big changes lately, so shes looking for a quiet place to land where she can take her time settling in. Shes the type of dog who thrives with structure, patience, and a little personal space. Once she trusts you, shell let her silly side showand that squishy face is full of expressive, endearing moods.
Roxanne is still learning the rules of indoor life, so shell need someone who doesnt mind a little coaching and a lot of management at the start. Think baby gates, leashed walks, and plenty of praise for good choices.
She may prefer to be your one and only pet, though shes had some positive dog interactions in the shelter.
Roxanne could do well in a home with dog-savvy kids who understand dog body language and are excited to help with her training plan.
Her ideal match? A calm home with people who appreciate her dignified nature and quirky moments.
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Roxanne. We have open adoption hours Mon- Wed 11:30am-5pm, Thu-Sun 11:30am-6pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
