Meet Kino
Meet Kino, a playful shortstack whos never met a tennis ball he didnt like! Kino was picked up as a stray, so we dont know much about his history, but while in our care hes shown himself to be a spunky little spitfire who loves toys, runs, and rowdy play with his canine buds. Home life will be a big adjustment for him, so managing his environment to limit his access to wrong choices will be key! He can be pretty excitable in new environments, and will need some support as he learns to disengage from distractions and stay in the moment with you. Luckily Kino is a smart cookie, and he likes to show it – hes always eager to train and demonstrate what a good boy he can be. Kino will be affectionate once acclimated to his surroundings, but is still working on his manners, so hes looking for an adopter who understands the importance of helping him settling on his own and reinforcing his good decisions without punishing mistakes. Kino is a big ball of fun who enjoys other dogs and could go home with a well-matched canine sibling, but would be just as happy to be your one and only adventure buddy! Kids in the home should be able to follow a training plan and handle a high-arousal dog prone to jumping and mouthing.

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat areas will remain open to walk through.
