Meet Kia Momma - a 2 year old, Husky mix, who weighs 40 pounds (as of 3/10/25). Don’t let her sweet face fool you- Kia Momma is a survivor and one tough cookie! She gave birth in a crate during her transport to Massachusetts from her southern rescue. Kia was a devoted and loving mama to her babies while in our care, and let them nurse well into teeth-territory (when other mamas often close down the milk bar). This multi-colored eye beauty is a sweet and submissive Husky mix who is ready for her turn to shine!

Have you ever wanted a tail chaser? Or how about the occasional, irrepressible zoomies? Or a dog that gives wide toothy smiles, and sits on your feet, looking up with adoring eyes? Meet Kia Momma - a 2-year-old, happy, healthy Husky mix, who weighs ~40 pounds.

Her foster shares: "In our home, Kia has been low maintenance. She adores attention and wants to be held in your arms like a baby. She will up-flip your hand if you dare to stop stroking!” But don’t be mistaken, Kia has all the qualities of an active and playful dog. She loves to fetch balls and frisbees, take long walks, and run with other dogs at the local dog park. She loves doggie toys and will happily self-entertain with chew bones and other chew toys. She is fully house trained on a regular potty schedule and is learning basic commands. She would be great living with other children (suggest 5 years or older) and other dogs. Squirrels and bunnies pique her interest, and she goes wild for chipmunks, so we'd recommend a pet rodent and cat free home. Since she is part-Husky, we'd also recommend always walking on a leash to keep her safe.

Welcoming Kia Momma into your home would be like winning the adoption lottery. Who is all in?

Medical Disclaimer: Kia Momma is Heartworm positive and will need to go through HW treatment once she is away from her pups and her milk has dried up. She will be treated by Andover Animal Hospital.

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
