Meet Mufasa
My adoption fee will be waived from June 23 – 29 as part of the AMERICA RUNS ON DOGGOS SUMMER RUFF-FRESHER EVENT !!!
Say hello to Mufasa — a lovable, chunky pit mix with a velvet-soft coat and a personality as big as his heart! This handsome guy is full of charm, smarts, and just the right amount of mischief (yes, he can open doors, so a sense of humor and secure latches are both must-haves!).
Mufasa is all about treats, squeaky toys, and quality time with his people — he might even let himself in just to be closer to you. He’s curious, cuddly, and clever, and he’s learning every day that staying calm can be pretty cool. On walks, he checks in often and takes it all in stride.
Like many sensitive souls, Mufasa can be a little unsure with sudden changes or loud sounds, but give him a little time (and a few snacks), and he’ll warm right up. He’ll thrive in a calm, predictable home that understands his need to go at his own pace and is ready to guide him gently as he figures things out.
Mufasa doesn’t have a known history with other pets or kids, so slow introductions and thoughtful management will be important as he settles in. He may not have all the house rules down just yet — but he’s eager to learn with someone who’ll show him the way.
Ready to meet the sweet, squishy guy who might steal your heart and your chair? Mufasa’s waiting!
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Mufasa. We have open adoption hours Mon- Wed 11:30am-5pm, Thu-Sun 11:30am-6pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
