Hello, my name is Red! I'm a neutered, 1-year-old pit bull/Labrador retriever mix that currently weighs about 52lbs. I'm a high energy, happy go lucky guy that starts off on the timid side so I prefer adult only households or ones with older children. Don't worry though, I warm up quickly and then I'm a playful pup! When I play, I can be pretty rough and tumble, so I prefer to play with dogs that are my size. I'm also hoping for a family that has experience with excitable pups like me. I've been working with the PHS volunteers and so far I know "sit", "down", "touch", and "place". I recently spent time with my volunteer friends here at PHS! Here's how I did:
We had a good walk today. He’s more exuberant and occasionally leaps in the air to show it! He was a star in class today again. Really showing his sits and downs, leaves its, touches, places, etc. He’s super smart and definitely knows whether you have a treat in your hand or not. He rolled over for belly rubs and seems much more open to cuddles and affection than even just a week ago. You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!
To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor. Emails will be returned as soon as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours during busy adoption periods like weekends.
