Meet Arya - a beautiful Husky mix gal from Georgia. At the time of posting on 3/14 she is 3 1/2 months old and weighs 17 pounds.
Arya (also nicknamed Milla by her foster) and her sister Aviva ended up in the county shelter in Georgia to no fault of their own. But luckily one of our rescue partners was able to get them out. On the smaller side for huskies for sure, these petite gals are incredibly happy and playful gals who love everyone they meet - including kids. They are young pups of course so will need families devoted to training all they need to know in terms of housebreaking and good manners.
Her new northern foster mom shares "this girl is smart as a whip - she learned 'sit' in about an hour. And is doing great on potty training too. She wakes up full of energy so she definitely will need an active family that is willing to give her a lot of exercise. She loves the two other dogs here at my house and I think a home with another dog would be best for her to keep her happy and have someone to play with. She would be great for someone who runs or hikes (especially if you don't have a fenced yard so that she can get her energy out that way). She is a husky through and through - beautiful and smart!!"
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.
To adopt or learn more about Arya, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $575] **
PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
