Vickie, a terrier long of scruff and the color of sunshine, is one of those unassuming elders whose cheerful demeanor and quiet self-reliance hide a sharp wit and investigatory talent perfectly suited to solving crimes. She’s blind, agile, likes a bit of exercise, turns up her nose at stairs and likes to mingle with dogs and people, especially when she is on a case. Can she see you? Nope. Can she love you? Absolutely. Might the two of you enjoy a life of inside jokes, shared snacks and audiobooks? Of course! Especially if you’re up for Nordic police procedurals, Then again, if love and snugs are involved, Sherlock Holmes will do.Here’s some notes from her foster:Vickie has gone from timid and anxious to confident and outgoing in just a matter of a couple weeks!Vickie is able to navigate herself around the house to find multiple areas to sleep, water/food, when she’s looking for me she will go to my side of the bed, or my desk- once she finds you she’ll jump up and wag her tail, it’s the most adorable thing!She does well with all other dogs, and loves people- especially if they want to cuddle, or happen to have a few extra treats.I take Vickie out on a schedule (approx every 2 hours) to use the bathroom, she sleeps through the night, has a great appetite, is very affectionate and has just been the most polite house guest.During the day she loves chewing on bully sticks (she may be 14 but still has a good amount of teeth!), napping, finding a person or dog to cuddle with, and walking around to continue exploring her surroundings.The only sound I’ve heard her make so far is a little whiny, moany noise she makes while getting her blankets in order for bed- they have to be jusssst right!I’ve fostered many blind/deaf dogs and each time it amazes me how intuitive and creative they are- this is no different with sweet little Vickie.You’ll be drawn in by her wise, milky white eyes and her charming personality will make you completely obsessed!Vickie will make the perfect addition to your family by bringing her gratitude and a never ending supply of unconditional love
