Looking for the perfect family dog? Meet Carmella Classic, a gentle, affectionate 11-month-old Lab/Aussie mix, who weighs 45 pounds (as of 11/5/25). She's as sweet as they come!

Carmella has zero prey drive and happily shares her food, toys, and treats. She’s not an alpha and gets along beautifully with calm, older dogs. On walks, she may be shy around new pups but responds wonderfully to gentle praise and reassurance. She’s house-smart and highly trainable—knows “come,” “sit,” “stay,” “heel,” and walks perfectly on leash (no pulling!). Carmella isn’t motivated by food or toys; instead, she thrives on love and verbal praise. She’s calm, polite, sleeps through the night, and just wants to stay close to her people. Carmella would thrive in a home with kids and plenty of affection. She’s the kind of pup who will fit seamlessly into family life and love you endlessly in return!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
