Meet Carbon, a 9-month-old 44-pound Border Collie-Lab mix ready for adventures!Carbon is housetrained and sleeps well through the night in a crate or out, and can take breaks in the crate. He's very excited about his own mealtime but is learning to sit and wait patiently to be served with no signs of food aggression. He's a gentleman at human mealtime and can lie nicely by the table. He shows a bit of separation anxiety -- he barks but calms down.Carbon loves walking and exploring new places, and is great on leash. He can walk side by side with other dogs. He's treat motivated and very trainable -- he's great at fetch! He enjoys going to the pet supplies store and greets the staff nicely. He's fantastic in the car, sits without a peep. He's a very easy travel companion! He plays well with a young dog in his foster home and walks well with her on leash. He's had successful play dates with other dogs. He's energetic and play-growls, loves to wrestle and run. He hasn't shown much dog reactivity on leash. He has politely greeted other friendly dogs on walks.Carbon lives with a 10 year old and a teen and does well with them. He's happy to run around and play soccer in the yard. He's happy to meet younger kids but does puppy jump on them.He lives with cats so is accustomed to them but inconsistent in his reactions: Sometimes he just observes, sometimes he pulls and chases, jumps, and nips at their fur. He'll need more work with cats.Submit an adoption interest application for a meet-and-greet!https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-applicationCarbon's $400 adoption fee helps cover his neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, and microchip.
