Meet Jax Jazzy - a 1 yr old, Beagle / Bulldog mix, who weighs approx 40-45 pounds (as of 1/20/25). Jax Jazzy and his brother, Jasper Jazzy, were born on 11/3/2023 and were recently surrendered to us because their previous owner could no longer care for them.
UPDATE from his foster: Jax is a sweet, playful, and eager-to-learn pup who is ready to find his perfect forever home! After spending most of his life outdoors, Jax is embracing the comforts of home life and soaking up every bit of love and attention he can get. He adores his people and wants to be included in everything—whether it’s training, playtime, or snuggling up for some one-on-one cuddle time.
This smart boy is highly food-motivated, making training a fun and rewarding experience. He’s already working on learning new skills like walking on a leash and harness, settling on his bed/mat, and playing a great game of fetch. He sleeps in his crate at night and has had no potty accidents so far (though, like any dog, he’ll need proper training in his new home).
Jax enjoys the company of other dogs but would thrive in a structured, active home where he can be the center of attention. Since he’s still learning boundaries, he’d do best with older kids who understand how to interact with an enthusiastic pup. He has a tendency to demand bark when bored or jealous, but he’s learning that patience (and not barking!) gets him what he wants. He may also gently mouth when excited, but with consistency, he’s improving every day.
When it’s time to unwind, Jax loves frozen Kongs and food puzzles to keep his mind engaged. He rides well in the car and absolutely loves drive-thru pup cups. He may bark at neighbors or strangers at first, but with a proper greeting (or a treat!), he quickly warms up.
Jax has come such a long way in a short time and is looking for a dedicated adopter who will continue helping him become the best dog he can be. If you’re ready for an affectionate, inquisitive, and energetic companion who will keep you entertained and love you endlessly, Jax might just be your perfect match!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
