Meet Bailey Rose - a ~1 1/2 year old, Yellow Lab mix, who weighs about 47 pounds (as of 1/15/25). Bailey Rose unfortunately comes to us as a surrender due to no fault of her own! Her previous family is no longer to provide this golden girl with all of the love and attention she deserves.
UPDATE from her foster mom: She is a super sweet girl. Loves attention, snuggles & play time, but is also good at chilling on her own. She is great on a leash (not reactive at all when other dogs pass by), and behaves well in her crate. Right now we have her sleep at night in the crate and if no one is home -- I have a camera so I am able to monitor her and she doesn't whine or bark when we are gone. She adores our other dog .. She and our dog are both very vocal players though!!! She is still young and that comes out in spurts of energy and some mouthiness when she plays ... but nothing you wouldn't expect from a younger dog. She just needs some play time and/or walks. She's smart, so a quick learner. She knows sit, down, and paw (shake). She is very polite with treats and food. We are working on stay and come. With the transition to our home I think we started at ground zero for house training -- that's def a work in progress.
Bailey Rose is still young, so she can be a little mouthy at times but she’s happy to be redirected. We recommend a home with older children. She’s an energetic girl, so I think she would do best in a house with a yard. After a run around outside or a nice walk, she’s happy to come home and relax.
Bailey Rose is a friendly, affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful and smart girl! Did we mention she is also house broken, crate trained, and walks well on her leash?! She loves going for car rides and knows her basic commands (sit, paw, down, come). She is an active girl who loves to play and explore and would do best with an active family who will bring her on adventures!! She is very well socialized with people and other pups, and loves playing with kids! She would do best with older kids because she can sometimes get excited and would hate to knock over a little kiddo accidentally. She is such a love bug who is waiting to find her forever family to love! If you're looking for an adventure buddy, look no further than Bailey Rose!

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
