Hello folks, my name is Ranger! I'm a 1 and a half year old, 63 lbs., neutered male Redbone Hound mix, that just so happens to be the cutest boy in the world. I'm a young, athletic and energetic boy that can get overwhelmed in new situations but with a little encouragement and some tasty treats I'm one happy boy. With my rambunctiousness I might do best with a family with kids 10+ while I learn more manners. I have a wonderful "sit" and am very gentle and polite while taking treats. I can't wait to go on adventures with you, and we can explore the world together! I would love to meet the whole family before going home including any resident dogs.

I'm very impressed with Ranger's training progress in such a short time. He still gets a little jumpy (so excited!) during gearing but otherwise he's on his best behavior. He's gotten much braver about walking on leash again. He is an absolute joy in the yard. He romps, he tosses the toys to himself, he's friendly greeting other volunteers who come into the yard. His manners returning to the dorm are most impressive. He's got "place" down and has a really long sit-stay and down-stay. I imagine this could translate into some straightforward crate training. You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!
