Meet Lucy + Sammie - this dynamic duo finds themselves homeless after their loving owner passed away. These girls have so much love to give and are looking for the perfect family who has enough room in their heart for TWO amazing girls!

Sammie is a 10 year old, Black Lab / Border Collie mix, who weighs 70 pounds (as of 7/27/25) - did we mention she has the cutest underbite?!! And Lucy is an 11 year old, Golden Retriever mix, who weighs 61 pounds (as of 7/27/25). These girls have been together since they were puppies and are able to adapt to any situation thrown their way.

They previously lived in Alabama in a corner lot of a busy intersection and were always friendly and saying 'hello' to new friends who passed by (and they never strayed from the property's perimeter). Since moving to the northeast with their previously owners, they were able to quickly adapt to their new living situation in an apartment. They are such sweet girls who are great when meeting other new doggy friends and children, too. They have been exposed to cats and seem to do fine with them. They listen very well and are looking for a family to love.

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Lucy + Sammie, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $750] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
