This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

The PICKLE litter is a big DILL!

Meet Trusty Pickle- a 3 month old, Boxer mix, who weighs 10 pounds (as of 7/9/25). This boy was rescued from a local shelter in Alabama and is ready to find his forever family!

His foster shares: "Trusty is a fun-loving, energetic pup who is equal parts goofball and loyal sidekick! He’s been getting along great with both his small dog and big German Shepherd foster siblings—but at the end of the day, his human is his number one! He’s the ultimate velcro dog, always eager to be by your
side and ready for any adventure (or cuddle session). With a natural knack for recall and a heart full of curiosity, Trusty is as smart as he is silly. He’s still got that puppy wonder, so you’ll want to keep an eye out—he just might sneak off to explore a corner of your house you didn’t know existed! He’s also quite the talker, and will happily “chat” with you in grunts, growls, and goofy sounds. It’s part of his charm! Potty training? Crushing it. Crate training? Making amazing progress. At night, he sleeps in his crate with barely any accidents, and he’s quickly learning the ropes of being a well-mannered pup. If you’re looking for a dog that will keep you laughing, love you fiercely, and always keep life interesting—Trusty might just be your perfect match!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
