Meet Missy Beans - a 12 week old, Catahoula / Lab mix, who weighs 12 pounds (as of 6/26/25). These pups were born on 4/1/25 and were brought to us when they were only 3 days old because their momma passed away unexpectedly. Missy Beans and her siblings have grown up in our care and they are happy, healthy and ready to find their forever families!
Missy Beans is growing into a giant love bug. She comes in and climbs on the sofa and will stare at her humans until they come and sit down and pet her. She loves to be around people as well as other dogs, too. She's still young and will need a family who is committed to her training.
Her foster mom shares: Missy Beans is so sweet and very playful. She has had a great couple of days! When we first picked Missy up, she was a little nervous, but she quickly settled in to the backseat with stuffy toys surrounding her. Part way home, she crawled on to my lap and alternated between snuggling and looking up at me and giving me kisses. When we arrived home, we introduced Missy to our dog who is a lot bigger, and they played well together. Missy certainly isn't bashful, hopping around, initiating play, and even play growling as she tried to keep up. In the house, she had a lot of fun playing with all the toys in the dog toybox. She would play with one for a while and then return to the box for another. Later, she easily went into the crate for a nap. Overall she was comfortable with us and our household very quickly.
Today, Missy continued to impress us. She loves people and will come running to see us. She loves playing with our dog but is not at all pushy. If there is no one to play with at the moment, Missy easily entertains herself with toys (particularly if there is a toybox full of them.) She is very interested in everything that is going on and watches what we are doing. We think she will be a quick learner. Potty training is going well already; she has even gone to the door to tell us she needed to go out. Missy has a gentle nature and is just a happy puppy who loves to play! She is going to make someone or some family very happy.
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
