This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Summer Lovin' isn't happening so fast for these dogs....so in order get these pups loving homes to enjoy fun in the sun this summer we are offering a reduced adoption fee of $399 for our long posted dogs like this one!

Star - a 3 year old, Spaniel / Pointer mix, who weighs 35 pounds (as of 9/6/24). This sweet girl was abandoned at a local shelter by her previous owner.

Meet Star, a charming pup whose heart and spirit are as big as her dreams of finding a forever home! Despite her long wait, Star remains a sweet, cuddly, and delightfully goofy girl, always ready to brighten your day with her playful antics. She does great meeting new people at the kennel, but hasn't had the pleasure of meeting children yet. So, perhaps a home with older kids would be best.
Star absolutely loves car rides and is content to stay out of your lap—as long as she has a prime view over the dashboard! Well-behaved and eager to learn, she’s still perfecting her recall skills and could use some leash training. Her motivation? Just lots of treats!

This clever girl knows "sit" and loves snuggling up for cuddles. Her journey began when she was abandoned with her two siblings in March 2024, and while she has been waiting a long time, she remains optimistic about her future! In fact she let us know she is thrilled to be part of the Summer Lovin' program, and she eagerly anticipates finding a loving family to help her thrive in a new life full of love and care.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
