Meet Purdy - a beautiful, 2 year old, Bulldog / Boxer mix gal, who weighs 49 pounds (as of 5/9/25). Purdy was previously living in a loving home who felt their urban residence wasn't giving Purdy the life she deserved!

Her foster shares: "Purdy is so sweet with her people. She's very smart and enjoys playing fetch or catching some rays in the backyard. She also loves to snuggle! Her favorite toys are stuffs or Kongs filled with frozen treats! While she is completely crate trained, she does not need to be crated and can be trusted when she is left home alone. She enjoys walks and doesn’t even mind tubby time either! Purdy is wonderful with children and has spent time with kids who are 8+ YO. She does get excited so just be careful that her tail doesn't knock over the younger kiddos. Purdy prefers to be the only dog in her household so she has her human's undivided attention. Her foster recommends a home in a quiet neighborhood with a privacy fence so she doesn’t bark at dogs walking by. She’s such a sweet girl who knows basic commands. Her foster will even provide her new family with her: crate, dog bed, slow feeder bowl, collar, harness, blanket and toys! She can't wait to find her new forever family who can bring her on adventures!”

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
