Hi! My name is Morenita. I am a 7 year old, 33 pound, Miniature Pinscher/Dachshund lady. I am definitely smaller than my pictures make me look :)

On a recent mission to Mexico the Directors of Great Dog went to visit a Sanctuary which is home to 380 dogs who have been rescued from various situations. Personally, I was dumped in a trash pile by my owners because they discovered I was pregnant. But, I was lucky: The trash guy fell in love with me, because I am so sweet, and called the nice ladies who run the sanctuary to come save me.

I was a good momma to my babies and they got adopted, but no one wanted to adopt me because I wasn't a baby so I had to live at the shelter.

But, when the Great Dog Directors came from Boston to visit, I knew right away they were my hope! I followed them everywhere, giving them gentle kisses and sitting by their legs. I showed them I was such a good girl and it worked! They could not resist taking me home with them to New England so I got to fly home with them that very week.

I am the perfect size to be in any home and I am comfortable in the city or the country. I love to play with other dogs and would do great at doggie daycare or at the dog park.

I have a lot of spunk and personality for my age, but I also love to just chill with you on the couch.

I am housebroken, crate trained, I do well on a leash and I am overall very well mannered. They have never even heard me bark even when I had to fly for 6 hours!

I only know commands in Spanish but I can teach you!

Please - I promise I will be a be a wonderful addition to your family!!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
