This NEMO is not a fish in the sea, but he will most definitely make a splash!

Meet Nemo - an approx. 1 yr old, Cairn Terrier / Cattle Dog, who weighs 16 pounds (as of 4/25/25). This sweet boy was brought in with 3 others as strays who had been born to other strays.

"Nemo is small but mighty! He has lots of young dog energy and likes to be in charge. He gets along with other pups his size and has no issues with strangers! He would love to find an active family who will bring him on adventures. Our understanding is that his parents were smaller breeds. Since he was born as a stray, he's still learning what it means to be loved and live indoors. He's a little sweetheart who is looking for love!"

UPDATE from his Northern foster: Nemo is amazing. He is a perfect little guy. He does have a lot of energy so a family that is going to take him out and include them in their lives is a must. He is super quiet and does well in his crate at night. He is doing really well on his housetraining and just needs a consistent schedule to keep being successful. He gets along with all dogs and people. He is really a gem!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
